Private channels break paste-site downloaders
Related: Telegram Video Downloader · Getting started · Privacy.
Public “paste a t.me link” sites fail on private channels because they only see a URL — not your logged-in session. If you can already open the chat in Telegram Web K (web.telegram.org) on desktop Chrome, an extension running on that page can save media you are allowed to view.
Legitimate tools still cannot bypass protected or view-once media. If Telegram does not let you keep it, neither should we.
What you need
- Desktop Chrome
- Membership / access to the private channel or group
- Lonkin Telegram Video Downloader from the Chrome Web Store
Steps
- Install the extension and pin the icon.
- Sign in to Telegram Web K and open the private chat you can already read.
- On a video or photo you can view, use the on-page Save video / Save photo control.
- For several items, use batch selection when the UI offers it.
What this is not
- Not an Android APK or iOS sideload
- Not an unofficial Telegram bot
- Not a website that asks you to paste message links into a third party
Privacy notes
Downloads run in your browser. We do not ask for your Telegram password on sortfeed.app — you sign in on Telegram Web itself. Prefer the official Store listing; treat password phishing pages as hostile.
